Definitely one of my 3 favorite Infocom games. Hilariously funny, great puzzles, not too tough. As for the alleged flaws mentioned by some: 1. How can you get "killed" and find out much later?? (unless you're totally dimwitted and just don't follow the game) 2. Many adventures/RPGs have extensive stories that bore me to death (I really liked The Longest Journey, but the incredible amount of texts and stories told by other charaters was a constant pain in the ass). I prefer a short story and puzzles galore. And the game descriptions in most Infocom games are better and more vivid than many graphics. 3. No UNDO function - most games don't have one. Ever tried the SAVE function? 4. Mazes can be annoying, hate them myself. But that's what the map is for. If you don't have the original game, you can find the map on the Internet. |

OMG, I remember this game from back in 1986 and I wanted to get it but I was only 11 at the time. Now I finally got it and played it. Here's the catch: I grew up in Upper Sandusky, the real town! It's in central Ohio north of Columbus about an hour....a big frickin nowhere, why in god's name did that place get selected? I told all my friends and they thought I was full of it until they played it. Now they're hooked. Weird... |

Here is a website that gives you acess to the extras of "feelies" that came with the game. Very helpful. Leather Godesses extras. |

Abandon Loader also requires VDMSound, if you haven't noticed that yourself. It also does NOT provide complete emulation like DosBox does, and thus isn't a good idea. If you have problems using Dosbox, you might want to check out Newbie Guide to DosBox or Anubis' DosBox tutorial. There is also a simplified way to run games in DosBox, altough some titles might not accept it. :not_ok: Another option is turning to Dfend, a frontend program for DosBox that takes away most difficulties of configuration and allows you to create specific setups for each individual game so that you don't have to change the settings back and forth. PS. :ranting: Using ten "SOS HELP ME" emoticons in a row is not a good idea. It makes people see and treat you as an immature little kid. |

i downloaded the leather goddessses of phobos 2 from this site and every time i start it up and go to choose my character the game freezes and you cannot even use the mouse. does anyone know if there is a solution to this problem? i am running xp but ive tried to run it through abandon loader and it still does it, and ive got no clue how to use dosbox. i read the instructions but they make no sense to me. :help: Cut the smileys, kid. When you overuse them, people will ignore you. |

Ok, I played the game. It would have been a lot better whith a real story. And I don't like those stupid puzzles coming out of nowhere without any logical reasons to exist. Plus I'll answer myself to my previous question : yes, you can die without knowing it and discover far later that you cannot win anymore (at least without restarting the game). |

This is not offtopic, it is a good question, though covered in the review. This version is the text edition; you need WinFrotz. Abandonia also hosts part 2 with graphics, Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 - Gas Pump Girls Meet the Pulsating Inconvenience from Planet X. |

I've heard about this game before, so as soon as i saw it up here, it was a must get. I have to say the puzzles remind me of Hitchhikers. I need to make a good map though b/c so far, i've gone from place to place aimlessly. It appears like its gonna be a challenging game! FYI to whoever couldnt get the program to work, you need WinFrotz. You can get it at abandonia through the programs link on the left hand column. |
