dmacdonald95 | Okay, it's got to be my ISP. I can access it through http:///anonymouse.org (It's "down" right now, through my ISP) so that's what I'll have to do, I can ignore the ads, but it's too bad I have to go through that extra effort to view Abandonia :P |

Ah so that explains the times when the site slows down by a noticeable amount. I always wondered what that was. I usually have a abandonia.com window open at ALL times whilst surfing and refresh it a lot.. sometimes it does slow down quite a bit. I just thought it was the server being influenced by all of the old stuff here.. it was acting slow and old to fit in! |

Danny252 | Yeah, I've noticed it a couple of times. Mainly when it takes more than 3 seconds for my 20-tabsworth of topics to load. |

Yes, it has some lag then. I once thought it had something to do with my computer so I was very scared and closed it |

Reup | Well moving archives doesn't take long, but when it's being done, there IS a lag. If you happen to log on/browse at that exact moment, you'd notice it. Again, if it's 2 minutes in a single day I'm exagerating (that is in total: mailing list and archive movement). It's probably less! |

hmm yes. Could probably optimize the mailinglist a bit. The archives moving around shouldn't take that long though.. |

The only noticable lag on the site is when we (the updaters) are moving really big archives around (for instance for the daily update) OR when the mailinglist message is being sent. This makes the site difficult to access for about 1.5 minutes every day... Sicne the updates are done at a more or less random time every day, the chances of someone noticiying it two days in a row are slim (or you're browsing Abandonia too much |

dmacdonald95 | It's a NETGEAR Router, hooked up to a Rogers Cable Modem, don't know what you mean by Bridged, but it's a single modem, none of this ISDN, "Double Modem to speed up your downloads and triple your Internet bill" stuff. |

First off moved to Comments and Suggestions (this Really doesn't belong in blah blah blah). I do think it is a problem with your ISP. Tom has experienced similar problems in the past I believe. Your ISP might not be updating properly or frequently. |

Exactly WHAT router is it? D-Link perhaps? Is it a DSL-modem at the end? Is the modem Bridged? |
