Master MC Not powerful enough for Dos Bos? Doesn't look like an intensive program to me?

ScitizenKane Hope it's okay to use this topic also since I have a pet peeve with the same game. I got Albion to run just fine off of windows (XP pro) but after about 5 minutes of play time it just closes. The first time that happened the windows error said something about an NDTV error if Im not mistaken. Or is it that my pc is on the dated side.

my specs
os Windows Xp pro
AMD K6 3d processor 500mhz (dated I know)
120 mb Ram
directx 9.0
trident video accelerator blade 3d

I know my system isnt powerful enough for dos box so I was hoping that I could get around it. Any help would be appreciated.

p.s thanks for providing 5 days a stranger, and 7 days a skeptic.

Gamefreak You need to run setup.exe or install.exe or whatever program there in Albion-folder to set up your sound card and music card, the error tells you that the game doesn't find a music card because you didn't set on up

hardcorenoob Ok, thank you so much so far, I really appreciate it. Still though, I'm not able to run it. I'm getting closer though! It starts up for about 2 seconds, then cuts out and tell me to check out the error log, I did and it said this:

**** Error log ****

Albion v1.38 (created on Jul 25 1996 12:39:09)
Executed on Sat Dec 31 14:27:23 2005

BBERROR: ERRORSTACK START:--------------
Sound: AIL error : XMIDI sound hardware not found

BBERROR: ERRORSTACK END-----------------

More help would be awesome.

Eagle of Fire I think it should be more in the like of:

Code:
z:\>mount c c:
z:\>mount d c:\oldgames\albion\cd
z:\>c:
c:\>cd oldgames
c:\oldgames\>cd albion
c:\oldgames\albion\>albion.bat
Tell me if it work better this way.

hardcorenooblet Okay, this is what I tried to do (I obviously failed btw...)
z:\>mount d d:\c:\oldgames\albion\cd
and yep... It didn't work.

Eagle of Fire I missed the part in which you said that you don't exactly have the CD.

In fact, if you look in the folder of Albion the archive created for you when you unarchived it, you'll notice that there is a directory named "CD". You need to mount that directory in drive D: to make the game works.

Happy playing. k:

hardcorenooblet I don't exactly understand... I'm sorry, I'm still pretty new to DOSBox. Is there anyone that can give me a step-by-step of how to run Albion and trick it to thinking that the CD is in there after it tells me to insert CD?
