Please, stop spamming your own thread. To make the Windows version to slow down, you need a CPU killer made for Windows. For the DOS version, I have no idea why it crash in DOSBox, It never happened to me. Please post your computer spec and your operating system and what you tried up to now in the next post to sumarry everything. I'll try to help you from there. |

I wasn't aware there was a link for the DOS version. I just tryied it myself and there is absolutly no reason to want to install the game. It's already fully installed within the archive, just start up full.bat either with DOSBox or VDMSound (if VDMSound work). |

Ok if you go to X-com Ufo on this site you can download 2 versions... the windows version that will run through xp and the dos version The windows version runs way to fast to be playable. I mean like the game speed is way too high. So i want to run the dos version because i can control the speed through DOSbox . When you download the dos version of xcom from this site. it is a cdrom version of the game that needs to be installed to the hard-drive in dos. So the problem is this ... I downloaded the game and extracted it to my hard drive under C:/tempgame/xcom when i go to run install . It gives the message from my previous post. "cdsetup type cd drive " or whatever and crashes out of the install back to a c:/> . so I tried to do the "make dos box think that C:/tempgame/xcom is D:/tempgame/xcom by using the proper command as in above posts. so that it would install itself as if from a cd... because as downloaded it is the exact files as on the original cd. so i need it to install C:/tempgame/xcom to C:/xcom once it's installed then i can run the exe and play the game. But it won't friggin install ?! it just gives me the same message over and over and goes back to a C:/ promt . thats the problem LOL. please help if you still don't get what im sayin . Download the dos version and dosbox from this site and try and install it ... you will see what i mean. |

Eagle of Fire | What exactly is the problem? Why do you need to do a "cdsetup" in the first place? |
