Underrated legend. Quote:
France or Portugal are recommended maps for training beginners other than the first stage (Brazil). Stay away from manual transmission and turbo mode until you have mastered cornering, braking and dealing with opponents (which appear in the side-view mirrors when over taking you). Turbo mode reaches higher speeds (and higher frame rates) and requires letting go of gas even on medium bends if you are maxed out in 6th gear. Have fun wearing out your tires so you can visit the pit stops. ![]() If you are a fan.. Listen to how the game was supposed to sound: http://youtu.be/8OcmVcC5jFA?t=1m16s And look up the predecessor "Vroom" released for the Atari ST and Amiga in 1991, as well as the non-DOS ports of "F1" or this game, the 1994/95 sequel known as "F1 Championship Edition". http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/formula-one_ Vroom (1991/92) on Amiga: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVKDvLM8pKw Formula 1 (1993) on Amiga: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dvYHQIIOFI F1 World Championship (1993) on SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASWZrErJeAc F1 World Championship Edition (1995) on Amiga: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bFS6XtGrX4 (this Amiga port actually got worse!? Luchsen | And if it doesn't work then, you could try another archiving program. WinRAR should work.

Either you tried to extract the game before it was downloaded fully or are doing something else wrong. Best bet is to try and download the game again then try to extract it again when it is done. |

Controls [Keys] Select Course in "Championship" or "Training" = ALT !!! not Enter!!! NumPad 8 = gas 2 = brake 4 = left 6 = right 0 = shift (up/down) P = pause Esc = quit ![]() Laptop without numpad: I = gas K = brake J = left L = right Shift = should be Ins (insert). check your laptop secondary keys/numpad settings Select Automatic transmission if you're a beginner! The final level of arcade is inverted colors! ![]() Sound & Music should be working. Although the appeal of this game is the gameplay (sense of speed) as well as the graphics, not the annoying engine noises. |

PinWizz | One of the best racing games ever. Seriously - you almost feel the wind when reach top speeds (and it happens pretty often) and your breath holds up when driving over hills and FLYING over standing cars. There were also version for Sega Genesis, good but not so speedy. Kawasaki Superbike Challenge is similar game from DOmark, but I prefer F1. Remember playing it during summer of 1998 on old 386 with monochrome VGA monitor in split-screen mode with cousins - F1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP was real hit!
