SensiFan It works perfectly with different coundcard. Diamond sound chip sucks

_r.u.s.s. well i dont think that buyng a new soundcard will change anything. in dos (or emulated dos) you need to run setup exe and keep trying different soundcards. but adlib for music works always

Perhaps there is some sort of hardware conflict?
Or the game just can't handle that soundcard because of some problem with backwards compatibility?
If I were you, I'd try an older soundcard... think Sound Blaster 16 or Pro / Pro 2 (or a compatible).

Yes, yes, different soundcard. Now I dont have anything else, only that Diamond soundcard but in few days I will get some "new" old stuff so I will try it. I just wanted to know if someone else had same experience with this game because other games work without problem.

this problem happened to me on win98 as well, some games ran very choppy when running with sound. all i needed to do is to boot in MS DOS, like i said before. did you try that?
[/b]
Yes I did. I think it will work with another soundcard in DOS on 486. Now I get the idea to try it under Win95 on that Pentium. It could work. Thanks!

SensiFan It´s 486/100 with 32 MB. I played BT on exactly same computer without any problems, only soundcard was different. Strange. P II with 128 MB and SB AWE 64 should handle it, same problem.
I´ll try different soundcards, must find some old ones. In junkyard Thanks.

The Fifth Horseman Yes, but the general classification of 486 includes a number of different CPU speeds.
I think his CPU just can't handle the game and its' sound effects at the same time.

_r.u.s.s. isnt 486 the stable cpu?
28-07-2007 01:22 PM
The Fifth Horseman What CPU have you got in that 486?
