There is no easy/quick solution to this issue. The earlier we introduce a system the less old posts we have to work through. To read the new posts is the main task of a moderator, so he can easily pin a new important one. And you don't have to rush all old posts in one day (Abandonia was not built in a day, to alter a known proverb LOL ) - of course the quicker the better to avoid as many new posts to known/discussed/solved problems as possible.

Well if it's a really essential part of information it's good to add to the review (as a technical note or something), but maybe editing the first post might help as well (but that would take up a lot of time). I think any moderator/admin could also edit this (since the updaters can edit only their own posts - not those by other updators) and some of the updators are nowhere to be seen at the moment (haven't seen theVoid in ages and Free Freddy's account has been deleted).

There are no stickies in GD

Remember that the GD is for many guests the gate into the rest of the forums. They look up a game and click "discuss this game". My guess is that many read the say, first 3-4 pages before posting their question, ignoring the other 20. The point is to easily guide them to the posts already there that are relevant to their problems.

Another approach, that is implemented, is to collect good problem solving posts so noone has to look through the entire topic to find that post that solved it. That way we can easily and quickly put up a link to that post the next time someone asks what has been asked before.

I think that what you're suggesting would imply reprogramming the whole board and so would be a pain in the behind if it's not already implemented in Invision. But I'm no web coder myself so I can't tell.
