If not, remember that you absolutely need that parameter for hardware support. Alternatively, you can create an ISO image of the CD and mount it using IMGMOUNT command and -t iso (example: IMGMOUNT D: F:\dosgames\iso\C&C_GDI.iso -t iso). This tends to get around quite a few frequent issues with running CD games. |

Oh, sorry, your post only just came up. I agree completely, I can understand completely, and I'm really sorry for shouting at you all. I didn't mean to. It's just, when the system won't work you find yourself shouting and then when other people tell you to do what you've already done then you don't not do what you should do which is not to do what I've already done. I'm sorry. |

Duckie | Mounted correctly meaning I've mounted the CD location as D:, no? | |

As for the problems getting the installer working, sorry, I don't know. Secondly: Next time, perhaps inform us that you know your way around DOSBox in the first post. You see, a lot of peope come here asking for help, and they have no idea what DOSBox is. Unless you tell us, we can only assume (epecially since you wrote you tried it in XP) that you were one of those. So no more Quote:

Yep John. Patience is obviously not yours, isn't it? Still the same answer: Try dosbox for KOM. Works flawless in it. You say you have the game, do you mean the CD? When mounted correctly in dosbox it works fine. And don't bite my head off if you don't have the CD, you didn't say so. |

Sorry, that was me, except your system is a bit buggered. It accepted my registration as Duckie, then allowed me to post, then told me I had a different name and never allowed me to log in again. So I've registered again. Anyway. It's not a problem with the way I'm running it. I tried using DosBox and VDMSound before, note, BEFORE I tried running it in XP, and both get no further than "You need a CD-ROM to do this." Or something. So, don't 'Beginners Guide to Using DosBox' ME, DR. (I'm John Steele on dosgames.com, so I know exactly what I'm talking about.) |

Better use dosbox. Read the sticky 'A beginner's guide to DOSBox' above. |
