what do you mean "post contents of BAT files"? how do i veiw the contents?
:amused: Notepad.

Quote:
all three (albion, launch, and main .exe) say
"please insert the ablion cd in your cd-rom drive."
and then says
"thank you for playing albion."
i downloaded the game from the site so doesn't that mean i don't need the disk?
I remember this particular problem has been described (and, I think, solved) a few times already in this forum... use the forum search function to look up those topics.

_r.u.s.s. i'd try abandoning NC and simply mounting the drive..
there you could at least see the error message

The Fifth Horseman Post the contents of both BAT files here.

Have you configured the sound in the setup correctly?

Also, F10 quits Norton and leaves you back with DOSBox command prompt.
Do that, run Albion.exe, launch.exe and main.exe and post the error messages they returned.

fetherin the game is albion.
I can't tell if there's an error message or not, because the normal dosbox screen only shows for like half a second and then i get thrown back into NC.
BAT files: albilow, albion
EXE files: albion, dos4gw, launch, main, setup
COM files: none.
I wasn't quite sure what you wanted Horseman but i listed those. there might be more of them further in though. i also ran the setup and it just wanted me to configure the sound stuff.
the other directories are: CD, DRIVERS, SAVES, XLDLIBS.

(with the exeption that i used a different game)
Which game?

what do i do after installing Norton Commander?
You modify the [autoexec] of DOSBox.conf to launch NC automatically when it starts.
Then you enter the game directory and run its setup utility to make sure the configuration is correct (you only need to do that once, but its still important), and finally run the game.

[quote]i've tried entering the program but all the things in it do nothing exept for setup and install! things that you would think would work (like LAUNCH) look like they're starting up but then i get dumped right back into NC! i need help getting the game running...[quote]
Again, what game is that? Also, what BAT, EXE and COM files are in the game directory?

_r.u.s.s. he probably uses norton in dosbox since he said that he followed fifth's guide...

anyways, don't you get any single error message? just throws you back to dosbox?
