| Redface5x | I downloaded this game and can only get as far as selecting a car. Then I get a black screen. Pushing any buttons kicks me out do dos again. Any ideas why this is happening? |

NFS1 I think too that this is one of the best parts of NFS because you can drive in cockpit view and if you crash the cam automatic shows the crash from 3rd person view. The same thing if you make a donut with the car. That's great! I own the original special edition on CD and i have played this game for days with my brother on network and on modified tracks. It was so funny and i love it!!! |

NFS Wow! I just downloaded and tried this wonder on my modern pc and works fine! (XP Pro SP3 EN) Although so far without sound, but Dosbox will solve this problem. In my opinion this is still the best part!

I think that gear is the answer to your question. At the start of the race, car is in N gear, meaning no gear (I'm not sure how to say it in English, but you get the picture). Letters A and Z are used to handle gear by default. Check in the game options that "Auto manual" is set, so you don;t have to bother with gears while driving. But at the start of the race, when all light are green, you must use A to switch to gear 1 and off you go. |

| nextinline | i found out how to turn, BUT HOW DO I ACCELERATE! when i press the up button, i see a needle move, but the car doesn't , how do i accerate (im using my laptop) |
