Yep, just what I expected. It's generally pretty straightforward (done it a few weeks ago for similar reasons) |

Installing Windows 3.1 was suggested, but I had no idea how to do it. I'll give it a shot. |

After I've mounted the drive and type in the executable name, the message reads out as follows: "This is a Windows 16-bit executable." |

Exact text of error messages, please. You could install Windows 3.x inside DOSBox and use that to run the game. Not very pleasant process, but not excessively difficult (there is a guide at VOGONS that explains how to set it up and has links to all required utilities). Warning: Don't do that if you're mounting the root of your C: drive as DOSBox' C: drive. |

I have the original game for PC (there was also a CD-I). I have tried in the past to use DosBox, but I always got "16 bit" and "Win 3.1" errors. People on this site offered some solutions, but none I can understand too well. I'm not very techy when it comes to jury-rigging software. |

DosBox should work if you're using it correctly Try this, for the basic stuff, or check out the VOGONS (Very Old Games On New Systems) collection of DosBox guides and tutorials (the Abandonia one is included there too *ahem*) By the way, are you using an original copy of the game, or a "ripped" one? And are you getting any messages when you try to run the game? That might help us give you a better answer |

It was a game developed from 94-95 by a branch of Philips called "Trip." It was an action adventure that's action was rather tacked on. For this reason, it wasn't widely accepted, but it had great eye candy and story details. Even if it didn't have much bang bang, you still got a lot from it. http://www.justadventure.com/thejave/html/...BurnCycle.shtml This is basically a pretty good summary with pics. Anyway, it's made for Dos, but DosBox has been for naught. |

The Fifth Horseman | I don't think we've got this game on Abandonia at all. Care to elaborate? | |

Has anybody tried running this, and succeded, using their current hardware? I've tried running it using my Pentium 4 equivalent and I simply cannot get it working. Has it already been prepped for emulation software elsewhere or can you give me tips on how to run it cold turkey? |
