Squalid: DOSBox doesn't work in Win98 first of all... That's why you have those crashing problems. |

Depends how good a 6yr old pc it is but they guess you need a Pentium 2 with 400MHz + processor to run games for 286 using DosBox so the chances are your computer will not work well in DosBox. However, I take all my screenshots in Irfanview (can't be bothered to find the link, Wael posted it above) and I only very occassionally have trouble with it. That would be my recommendation for taking screenshots of anything running in Windows. Obviously, if you are running games in proper Dos it won't work because it's a Windows program. It should work with anything running in a windows dos shell though! Hope that helps. |

I also read somewhere that it needs alot of something to run...??? Like I said I am ignorant of such things and just know that my pc is 6 yrs old. So you think I can use dosbox..? Or should I just go for the other programs suggests by Wael? |

This thread is about taking screenshots, not about other people avatar. Please do not force me to make this topic the first one I close as a moderator. I warn you guys, if you think the other moderators were annoying then you'll have a hard time with me. This is troubleshooting section, there is no reason to start a chat. Help Squalid or start a new thread in the Bla Bla Bla forum. It may sounds like I'm jumping on you guys but in fact I'm not, I'm only striking the iron when it's hot. I don't think pinning a topic would be appropriate, and I noticed the opportunity here to tell you guys. I want the troubleshooting section to be clean. Most of the time those who need help are already tired by searching an answer to their problem, they might not care enough to browse thru a 2-3 page topic if it's full of off topic posts... So please, keep to the point of the topic and keep it simple, it will help everyone. |

Sebatianos | Well I'm still not fully satisfied with mine, so It'll keep changing until I am (but It'll always be connected to one thing - Ghostbusters, so you'll recognise me). | |
