Chris | If you have problems with DOSBox, VDMSound might work perhaps. DOSBox is the better emulator overall. | |

It should run fine in DosBOX, with mouse and sound (it did on my system anyway). The other thing is: use VDMSound to run the game under XP. Furthermore, there's quite a lot info on the timing issues on Spacequest.net! You should get it running with these fixes! |

Hi all, just wondering if anyone can help me... If I run Space Quest 5-the Next Mutation in DOSbox, I cannot use my mouse. (I've never had this problem before when I've used DOSbox with games, and I've tried the 'control-f10' thingy already.) The upside however, is that I can hear the great music...But I really would like to use the mouse. Now when I run this game just in windows XP, I CAN use the mouse (although I hear no music) - but the most annoying thing is that the game runs so fast that I cannot do delicate control things (like save the mechanic with the space pod-thingy outside of the garbage scow) (I don't know if the speed issue will effect playing it in DOSbox - I haven't played that far yet) So, my question is, does anybody know how to make the game run properly on either of these systems? (by the way, I'm not too fussed about not having the music, but it would be nice) Or, ideally, how could I get the best out of both worlds? This is one of my favourite games ever, and it's killing me not being able to finish it! Thanks all - :bye: |
