The other thing, if you really only want to play games, is a bit tough cookie. You have to stay vigilant and firm. Play your games, and don't let yourself bothered by anybody. Don't answer to her, don't do anything when she freaks out, simply ignore her. Soon, she will give up to try to get you away from the computer.[/b]
Or you'll come home one day to discover that the computer has vanished and you're now the one being ignored. I wouldn't recommend this course of action, personally.

Then ask her if she wants you to end up like she did.

What? A female with four kids? Pics or it didn't happen :bleh:

You're just going to have to prove to them with rational discussion that you're mature enough to handle a computer for mostly work purposes. I think buying a computer by yourself would really improve that image. If it makes you feel any better, being married with a kid doesn't improve the length of time you get to spend on the computer for personal stuff heh heh - if I'm on for 2 hours a day I'm LUCKY.

I'l bring this topic back up, because there has been a new twist in the tale.

I've finally got over the fact that I can still only use two hours a weekday and five hours a weekend day. I've also took a job and Im earning over 100€ a month, so I'l be getting a new (and my very own) computer possibly next winter.

However, there is a new problem. As Im studying marketing and computers, I need computer so I could do some homework (over 10 pages of customer marketing stuff) and projects.

However, I aint getting any extra hours for those projects. Mainly because "The sound of the computer is annoying/too loud" and "Youre using it too much already".

Bleh.
[/b]
The answer to your problem is to do as much of your preparation and planning away from the computer and only clock up the time for portions of the work that cannot be performed without. I studied computer science. I spent as little time at the terminal, as possible. The damn things are a distraction. You design the software ahead of time. You already have your design documented. Then you type it all in and compile it. Debugging has to be done on the computer, but it is really sped up if you designed the code properly.

Aren't there computers at your school at your disposal for school projects?

Anywho, with the salary you're making now, you shold be able to afford a computer in a relatively short while.
So in the meantime (if the school computers aren't an option), could you in any way imagine only playing during the weekend? Maybe just take a cold turkey and make up your mind to work on work days and play on the weekends? If the urge is too strong around the darn machine, maybe you could try to take some extra shifts at your job and thus earn the money to buy your own even faster?

YEP!

You might get one cheap at the Dell site. Look in the refurbished section. Some good deals! :ok:
Just tell your Mom that you prefer gaming to watching T.V.,.. that is if you get to watch T.V. :tomato: Also mention that you can't wait to go to college! But gaming is how you relax between studies?,..maybe?

I don't get how you even let them limit you. You're 17, right? Just ignore them, dude.

I only have the two hours to play games. Its one of the things I really like and its one of the few things where Im best at. Gaming is my passion and my life. I do understand that I need to concentrate on education, but Im sure I dont have to spent my free time on studies.
[/b]
You have the rest of your life to play games. (my gawd i sound like my dad)

EDIT: Maybe this has got something to do with her education. She was once in gollege, but he dropped out, claiming that It "just wasnt for her" and now she's an unemployed housewife and a mother of four kids with health problems.
[/b]
My parents did the same. On and on and on about studying, education etc. Im glad they did. I now earn more than triple what my parents ever did combined.

I tried to threaten her that If I dont get extra time, I wont do homework at all. She said "Fine".

Now thats what I call support.

EDIT: In other words: No extra time.
