I choose adventure games. Monkeyislands and indiana jones series are really great. I have heard that Gabriel Knight is a great adventure game. Is it good?
I've only played the third game, but I own the forst and second also. When I get around to it I'll play through them since the third game is superb. Jane Jensen is an amazing writer.

I feel sorry for the one guy who voted for arcade...even tho bubble bobble is adicting..... ....Action for me, advenure is good also, but a lot of what people seem to stress about it is the point and click games, which reminds me of myst...which remind me of puzzle games..... ...not other good one like Alone in the Dark,Grim Fandango, that kind of stuff. RPG is also good...but in the end, I do more of First Person Shooters than anything else I guess.

Arcade is in my opinion only fun in multiplayer mode. But I think it's probably the most boring genre of them all, even sport games are more fun... :tomato:

I admit that StarCraft was a very well made game with and original story (at least to me it was). I like how they managed to balance the three sides. Unfortunately you have to be really fast to win (*rushing*) in it and I don't like that in a "strategy" game.

you didnt have to be that fast, its only like that now slightly because most of the people who play on batle.net have been playin the game for years so know exactly how to build quickly. most of the time these days i play ums maps which can be absolutely anything. starcraft has one of the best (imo) scenario editors that has ever been released. i havent got a clue how to use it properly but there are maps out there that can do just about anything!! fancy a bit of diablo 2 rpg on starcraft anyone? :)

I prefer the old Command and Conquer which had more emphasis on resource gathering. In C&C it wasn't that easy to just build a new base since a new construction yard was REALLY expensive. Not to mention buildning the defense for the new base. Gathering Tiberium became more of a escort mission. In the *Craft games I've found that resource gathering hasn't been that hard. Then again I doubt I've seen all the scenarios.

Good ol' RPG...has any of you ever wished to be an all-powerful wizard? Ah, well.
