I think somebody had that problem a while back. It could be that you've accidentally mounted your actual C: drive instead of the DOSBox CDrive.

Heroes of Might & Magic 1

When the enemy has a hero stronger than yours here's an
easy way to cut him/her down to size.
Take over one of their cities and then move have of your
movement away. The hero will come to take the city back
and leave part of his army behind. Take the city again
and leave until the heroes army has dwindled to a
manageable size!

What's wrong with this game ? I run it in dosbox, but after i build something in the town or try to pick up something like gold or take over a mine, my mouse cursor disappeares and i can't do anything except pressing ctrl+F9. In VDMsound the mouse doesn't work at all. What might the problem be ? :help:

Yep. Just to run install, set the sound and midi to Sound Blaster, then it runs fine under XP SP1. Don't you guys try to run install.exe b4 running heroes?

But there HEROES hangs ! !! ! ! ! :sniper:
I start game, start a new game, and before press [next turn]
and sometimes on second turn the game HANGS, BLOCK, STOPS.
I think it happens when load some kind of picture.

I'm trying to play this game in the DOS-BOX under XP, but it is VERY VERY
slow. It is painful to play so slowly. I hit Ctrl+F12, but this do not helps me.

Give me an answer how to play under dos/win98.
(i have choose: no sound card, no music card, Vesa compatible, no modem
in the setup) and the game hangs!

I suggest you download D-Fend from:
http://members.home.nl/mabus/dfend.htm
It's a front end to Dosbox, allowing you to tweak the settings really easily. A way to speeden things up is to skip a few frames. It's a bit similar to the "CPU cycles" setting: keep increasing until the performance grows worse again if you increase any further.
I don't know if this will be enough to allow you to play MoM at a decent speed, but you could give it a try...

The cheat gives you $20 000, and 100 victories for Drag race & 100 for road races
for overall 200 races. That guaranteee that the Kings will race with you
when you challenge them :sneaky:

The only cheat code I can get to work is the reveal map one. The rest (like the gold one) don't seem to do anything, is there a special screen I have to use these codes on?
