Funnily enough at the Nintendo E3 press conference the guy said "I'd like to thank everyone that said nice things about the name. This guy." or something like that. Nintendo appears to know it wasn't a good choice for a name.

They say there's no bad publicity. Now everybody's talking about the name, so everybody's hearing about the machine.

Yes, true and good point, I suppose, but why not just Y ? That would point out the essentials here, I think.
