This is an eclectic mix. Some of it is remembered from my younger days and some of it is thinking of films that I could watch without traumatising my children, too much.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the children's Bond movie (story written by Ian Fleming, produced Albert (Cubby) Broccoli (sp?), with a dashing hero who drives an amazing tricked out car that he gets from a character played by Desmon LLewelyn (sp?), who crosses swords with a villian played by Gert Froeb).

The rest of the Bond films with the exception of Never Say Never Again and the ones that I have yet to see (all the post-Dalton ones, except Goldeneye). Some have weak stories, but they are all good romps.

The Bond parodies starring James Coburn as Flint. I think that there are three of them, but I can only remember two titles: In Like Flint and Our Man Flint.

The Untouchables, if only for the shootout at the train station.

A Christmas Carol, but only the black and white version of the film starring Alistar Simm. Not that the others are bad, but that Alistar Simm does it so well.

Chicken Run, Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and anything else Aardman animations has done.

2001: A Space Odyssey. Do not try to understand, just watch it.

Even numbered Star Trek films. Wrath of Kahn has combat and brings back an interesting character from the series. The Voyage Home (?) (number IV) is just fun, much like the more lighthearted episodes(Gary Seven and The Trouble With Tribbles). The Undiscovered Country is a nice venture into intrigue and conspiracy.

Monty Python's Meaning of Life is worth the price of admission/rental just to see the companion feature. There are funny bits in the film, but they tried too hard to do shock humor and, unfortunately, much of it merely shocked. However, the companion feature, and the songs are worth watching and the magic of the DVD's random access allows you to only watch funny bits that have stood the test of time.

Monty Python's Life of Brian and Monty Python and the Holy Grail are must see's.

Anything by Hayao Miyazaki. Many of his films can be watched by the whole family, all of whom will be entertained.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I could add more, but these are the first ones to come to mind.

i would have to say action/adventure flicks, and also comedies with the f-word used alot. but mostly, if it just has some serious behind-kickery in it, some bloodshed, and a sex scene, im good. i also like another type of movie, and because of its content, i cant say in a public forum. oh well, unless your a total idiot you know wat im talking about.

im not a good person, am i?

By the sound of your other choice of movies, I just cannot imagine what exactly is the content of this unspoken movie genre, but i bet it's not the sort of thing you'd show a 1 year old. Or over.

Primarily anime (not the hentai sub-genre, mind you). Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed and so on.

I actually enjoy very few live action movies, dunno why. Underworld is one of very few exceptions.

Could it have anything to do with crummy actors, sleepy progression, worse plots and nil director's talent, as found in too many movies? Wait! I just described those 50's flicks again :whistling:

Cartoons: Actually, I would rather watch Tom & Jerry, Daffy and Bugs Bunny than the overwhelming, vast majority of today's feature movies. Those old cartoons are great.

Anime? I haven't seen much of that, I've read a couple of mangas, but I just didn't get it. I thought the same about anime. It's not bad, but I simply don't get it. :wallbash:
Beside, after reading the manga backwards, I'm supprised the anime reels don't run backwards too  ^_^

well, actually its illegal for a 1-year old to watch, and for everyone else under 18 too, if you catch my drift
