I'd try that...the rocky mountain oysters not the boogers lol

Pizza, spaghetti, kidney pie and Swedish cheese cake.
I'm not a continental person.

1) a whale steak in Oslo - don't know what to say - it wasn't that tasty, just wanted to try it.

2) a kind of mint "stuff" wrapped in leafes covered with gold foil in Bangalore - really tasty. a bit like chewing gum but spiced up with some undefinate herbs and syrup. I worried all night long about what it would do to my stomach..

3) Fugu in Shizuoka.. bah! Don't understand what japanese people find special about them.

4) Pansen Suppe - a typical austrian dish.. it's made from cow's stomach. Luckily, I didn't know what it was when I ate it.

That reminds me, I should probably mention Haggis.

I've had both the real and vegetarian versions (veggie is obv. nothing like haggis, but still very tasty!)

Truly an inspired way to eat the parts of an animal that I otherwise would never go near!

Oh dear, this is a tough one.

- I love frog legs. No really, they're delicious. There's no odd taste to them unlike many other exotic dishes.

- my father used to serve odd kinds of meat on hollidays. Ostrich was one example - very dark meat but not that much to my liking.

- authentic Thai food - not the restaurant kind but real Thai dishes because a friend of mine was half-Thai and he invited me over to his sister's birthday dinner. Damn, that was amazingly good.

What I refuse to eat (some I have tried):
- snails. Sorry but I hate the creatures while they're still alive :p
- bugs. Just, no.

Something that is normal here is probably realy odd to someone else...
A standard dish here for example is "Bloodpudding with lingonberry-jam".
Basicly it's fried blood (with a few additives) and a heavily sweetend jam made from one of the most sour berries on the planet... Sounds strange? It's realy good. Usualy also served with Bacon on the side.

One thing i remeber Kosta was skeptical about trying when he was here was something we call "Knäckebröd". It's a kind of bread that is totaly dry.

Once he tried it, he bought a couple of packs to bring with him home :)

We got blood sausage here as well - yummy.

Just smelling bloodpudding makes me want to throw up. Bacon is awesome, though, and so is knäckebröd. :p


But hmm... What's the definition of an ''exotic dish''?

I had beef tatar (with the egg) the other day for the first time. It was delicious. When my subsequent tapeworm grows big enough to get an account here, everyone make him welcome please :)
