ok i downloaded Leisure Suit Larry 1 (the oldest one) and it works fine in my computer (Windows XP) so then i downloaded the LSL VGA and i am having a hell of a time getting it to work. I downloaded Dosbox and i still can;t get it to work. :ranting: So can somebody please give me the step by step dummy way to get my game to work before i go insane. Thank you

Could anyone help me on the issue of implementing VDMSound in DosBox, please? Every time i try to run dosdrv.exe from VDMSound folder my Dosbox crashes!!!
|
AFAIK, these are two separate programs that should not be ran together.

Thank you for your opinion! :kosta:

Both are emulators designed to operate in XP enviroment. Altough they do work via different means (IIRC, VDMsound emulates just old soundcards, while DosBox emulates entire x86 machine), attempt at running them both at once or running XP-operating VDMSound from DosBox will result in a crash. :not_ok:
Also, I don't know why the heck would you try to run VDMSound under DosBox :not_ok: , as the latter already includes complete emulation of Sound Blaster 1, 2, Pro1, Pro2 and 16 as well as Adlib and some others I did not even care to remember. So when you have DosBox, VDMSound is obsolete. LOL |
