By the way, are the 150+kb images in the signatures Really necessary? On a slow connection they take ages to load, and don't really serve anything purposeful as far as I can see.

I never really understood the need for a signature. I for one hardly ever read them anyway.

I tend to rely on my keen eye and wit to devise my sigs.

But still if someone has a good signature, it grabs away my attention more than the avatar, but that's just me...
