Here's my attempt using my own Distressed Background, and playing around with the Outer Glow. The font is the same as I used for the Plastic effect ^_^

It's nice but once again some areas are a little hard to see because there so dark.

A good rule of thumb for the outer glow is to do the opposite of whatever value the majority of your background is...

if your BG is mostly dark, go for a light glow, and vice versa.

Also, with the second sig I posted, with the glowy BG, I tweaked the invisible text layer a bit with some brightness and contrast that allowed me to use the dark glow.

Well at points mine was near white and at others near black ^^

I have a method of fixing that issue :)

I should post it... but I'm burnt out on writing tutorials at the moment.

Ahh!!
Nice..
I was just fooling around with text and the invis thing, can't believe I didn't think of the glow part!! :wall:

I just got Photoshop CS2. I did the taffy pull and the invisible text to get this.

I had Danny's problem of the light part of the background covering up the text, so I did two layers, one with multiply shading and one with screen, they lie on top of each other and make it visible regardless of background.
