The older the games I play are, the older my computer is (and I do play old games...)
  • Intel Pentium II 266 MHz
  • 128 MB RAM
  • 3.92 GB Hard Disk
  • 2 MB S3 Trio video card
  • 10 MB Voodoo 2 chipset
  • SoundBlaster Pro sound card (duh...)
  • a network card (I can't bother to see how it's named :P )
This doesn't mean that if I'll get a new computer (someday), I'll play only new games...or does it?

Currently:

Intel P4 2.80GHz (With HT)
1 gig RAM (can't remember the manufacturer)
Radeon 9250 AGP (temporary replacement after my X800XT blew up :()
Soundblaster Audigy 4
80GB internal HDD
40GB internal HDD (currently where Debian lives)
Thermaltake Shark case
580W Hiper modular PSU
160GB external Iomega HDD
And some nice Logitech speakers.

When my new one arrives:

LEXA Tower 400W Case W/ Side-panel Window
CPU: (939-pin) AMD AthlonT64 X2 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
CD: SONY DWQ-30A DUAL FORMAT 16X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE
CD2: SONY 16X DVD-ROM
FAN: CoolerMaster Liquid CPU Cooling Fan System Kit + 2 EXTRA CASE FANS
HDD: 400GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16M Cache 7200RPM Hard Drive
MOTHERBOARD: (Sckt939)ASUS A8N-SLI SE nForce4 SLI Chipset SATA
MEMORY: 1024 MB (512MBx2) PC3200 400MHz Dual Channel DDR MEMORY (Corsair XMS High Performance Memory w/ Heat Spreader
TEMP: THERMAL TEMPERATURE LCD DISPLAY WITH 3X FAN CONTROLLER
VIDEO: NEW! NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GTX 512MB 16X PCI Express Video

The second HDD and the PSU from the current one, plus the sound, external drive and speakers, are going to be moved across, of course. It will eventually get a second 7900 when they're less expensive and there's any point :)

How much would that cost? A million bucks?

Danny252 23-04-2006 06:00 PM

God, nowhere near a million bucks.
But in the region of (or above) ?1000 for all that?

troop18546 23-04-2006 06:17 PM

I can only afford a 1000$ for a pc (no monitor), cause if I spend more - it's not worth it.

Stebbi 23-04-2006 07:58 PM

Does anyone know some good online pc store's?

BeefontheBone 23-04-2006 08:01 PM

@Danny, troop: ?1300 or thereabouts with VAT and delivery. There's some other bits I didn't mention (like a free copy of Nero 7) but those're the important ones. I got annoyed with this PC crashing the other week (and wasn't entirely sober) and spent a bit more than I meant to. Oh well :) At least I'll actually be able to play this copy of Oblivion that's sitting in my room.

Danny252 23-04-2006 08:20 PM

Wow, talk about drunkeness taking over ^^
?1300 from getting pissed off with your compy because you were a bit drunk.. *hugs coke can*

BeefontheBone 23-04-2006 09:09 PM

Well, I hadn't been drinking...
