Okay everybody, thanks for the tips. Tried a few different things and did beat one of the opposing heroes, but they recruited others quickly and had others, so I could not finish them off. Its probably a good game but I still find it just too difficult.

Had the same trouble with Fantasy General, I won the first six battles or so but the later maps just kill you. So both of these will now be freeing up space on my hard drive. Have just downloaded Master of Magic, and am still not dead! Just signed a treaty with the opposing wizard and payed a small tribute. So far so good.

The window version is great news. I got a problem here in that for some reason the games accuses an error in reading cd music and forces it to change to 8 bit mono music. I'll try to figure it out, but if it happens to someone else I'd like to know.

Ok, for those who had the same problem as me: I tried installing the dos version through dosbox. The thing is, by doing that it will only have 8 bit mono music, it doesnt matter what sound card i pick. So it's better to stay with the windows version, i guess, since i won't get 16 bit stereo music anyway. At least it's faster than dosbox.

Have you tried downloading it again? Sometimes something goes wrong during the download, breaking the archive, causing a CRC error.

Yes... I tried and i tried to open it with winrar... Always the same msg saying there was a CRC error... :angry:
