Hey all! Albion is a fantastic game, one of the first I ever played.
Just wondering has anyone ever run the patch for it? It updates it to version 1.38 and is able to be downloaded from the Bluebyte website. Check it out. You can google the patch and see if you can find it also! I am yet to try it but am interested to see what changes are made! EDIT: It can be found here: http://www.bluebyte.net/ger/downloads/default.asp?id='' Thanks, Sheldon |
I found it!
I finally found how to get out of that horrible desert spot!
If anyone wants to know, the entrance to the passage is near the water on the northeast side of the part you are on. It's near a row of impassable small rocks that lead from the water. |
Hello!
I have two questions about the battle system: 1. On which factor is it depending how many times a charakter can strike/shoot? Some can two times, some only one time. There are now informations about this in the charakter stats or the manual :( 2. Tom at the beginning has 25/70 distance fighting skills. But as soon as I give him a pistol, he gets 80/70. How this? Stats above the maximum? And even with this stats, he often misses his target :( Thanks to anyone how can say something about this :) |
Hi,
Your first question is something that has always intrigued me too. I think that the number of times a character strikes in a turn is a property of both the character type (for example Drirr is an Iskai Warrior) and the level that that particular character is at. Drirr hits twice in one turn quite early in the game, perhaps ~ level 10, whereas Tom does not strike twice in one round until much later in the game > level 20 if at all. Your second question is a little easier. You will find that as you progress through the game you may get many stats above their maximum. Many weapons and items and special locations will raise the value of certain attributes and skills of your characters. Specifically with regard to combat, you will only make contact every turn if your close combat skill level is at or above 100. But since Tom's maximum close combat value is 70, you will need to find objects or weapons that raise his close combat skill. Once an attribute or skill is above its maximum for a particular character the bar will turn yellow in the attribute screen. Also remember that certain equipable items can in fact lower certain attribute and skill levels of your characters. I believe this is supposed to simulate the weight, bulkiness, restriction of mobility and quality of such items. For example, chain mail reduces both short and long range combat skills due to the weight and restriction of movement of the character that has it equipped. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask :) Quote:

Awesome.
I got a Blue Byte demo disk back in the 90s that had a demo for this on it.
I wasn't even aware that it wasn't sold anymore... it's one of the best RPGs I've ever played. The demo only ran until you leave the Iskai continent. So this is refreshing. =-) Thanks, Abandonia! |
Hey does anyone have the original CD version and this one on abandonia?
How much are they different? I mean original CD had like 350+ MB of stuff, this one is hardly 40 MB or so.. whats been ripped? |
i have a other question ... Does someone knows from where i can get a German Language version of this game?
