As you have Windows 9x, DOSBox and VDMSound are not an option - and you don't need them either.
These two topics should help: How to configure DOS for gaming Win98 - Memory Another option is to use Abandonia's bootdisk |
I know you guys are gonna tell me to read through the thread but i couldnt find what i wanted.

Under the [render] sectionframeskip is default 0. Change it to 5 Under the [cpu] section cycles is default 3000. Change it to 6500 or press Ctrl+F12 until cycles at the top reads 6500 This will not harm dosbox in any way. it will not harm your computer either. another trick that you can look at is by pressing right-clicking your taskbar and then click task manager. click the processes tab and then click on "user name" click on all the processes linked to your username except for explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe and then click end process. even thought there is a warning. click yes. then rund dosbox. also set your options inside the game it is textspeed or something to a value other than 5. if to slow set higher. if too fast set lower. you can also activate frame skipping if needed. :brain: |
Hey, I used to play this game when I was younger, and just found it again. I've downloaded it, and have got it to load in dosbox, but i can't actually seem to play it!
My mouse doesnt seem to work. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Like, I get dropped in the water, asked for my name, and then I end up by that guy and the boat and the fish. And I move the mouse around, which shows up as a blue arrow, but it doesn't do anything. Can someone help?? I've tried to look in all the online handbooks I can find, but nothing seems to have the answer! Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks |
I ran this game on Windows XP, and it was slooow...
Does anyone have any advice? |
to add to that, it doesn't tell you how to save your game.
|
Play it in DosBox, and increase the CPU cycles with CTRL+F12 for faster speed. To save the game, press ESC and choose save game. Quite obvious for almost all games I know.
