Sound Card problems!!

Hi everyone! I wonder if anyone can help me solve this, maybe it's kinda stupid, but I know nothing about this. I've installed Kyrandia 3 in my computer, running under Windows, which was miraculous because it's a very old game and the computer is relatively new. The game works perfectly, the only thing I couldn't get to work is the sound, because it displays a message at first that says sth like "couldn't get the sound card settings", I think that's because newer computers have no sound card or sth like that. From the given list, I chose soundblaster because it was the only one that didn't display a compatibility error message. But when I run the game, well, the other message appears. I don't want to play without sound, it's one of the greatest parts! Does anybody know what I have to do??

Thanx in advance!!

Thanks, but that doesn't work. I mean, this is a version that runs under windows; I had previously downloaded one that ran under dos, and I had downloaded the dosbox too, but that was even worse. At least this version works, I just have to figure out the effing audio. Thanks ayways!

Then maybe you should give VDMSound a try, that emulates a SB card under Windows.

Scroll a bit down.

The version we have here _IS_ a DOS version. That you were able to run it under Windows can be attributed to a stroke of luck.

Also, don't bother with sound. All sound was ripped from this copy to make it fit on the site in the first place.

If I remember swell there were some SFX sound effects left ingame.
No music, and many sound effects were indeed deleted, but not all.

<<Too lazy to check again.

But the one I have is NOT the one here, it's a version for windows, I may not know that much about games but I'm not THAT stupid either, XD. Anyway, thanx to DOSrider (I closed the other page, so I hope I spelt it right) for the VDMSound suggestion, I'll try that right away.

Legend of Kyrandia 3

Hi,

I downloaded the game from this website. When I try to run it through dos box, it states: "A CD-ROM device driver is required to run Kyrandia 3: Malcom's Revenge." Can you please help me get it up and running. I had no problem part 1 or 2.

Thank you.

use this code line before you launch the game, it enables you to mount a CD-drive so it thinks there is a disk.

mount d d:\ -t cdrom

Alternatively, run it through Scumm
