The furthest I could get was the intro sequence, the game kept crashing on me in DosBox and the Windows version (which I also have) I could not get running. Could you tell me how did you manage it?

I don't remember, but I can reinstall it and fiddle around until I figure it out again, just give me a day or two. If I remember, the sound wasn't 100%, but it was still pretty good.

Yeah, I have some screenshots leftover if you want to see them. It was great, I was able to have bilinear filtering and everything. I think there was a checkbox you have to use in ePSXe under the special option if I remember right, otherwise you get only fog or else borders to things like trees have hideous squares on them. It might have been somethihng dealing with the alpha channel, I don't remember, it's been a couple years since I played it.

Well, I might try running it (if I find the CD). Can you remember which graphics plugin you used? I usualy use Pete's OpenGL since I have an NVidia card

Have you tried Lost In The Nightmare?

It's a scary game on Reloaded - http://www.reloaded.org/download/Lost-In-Nightmare/116/

:ok:

Ever heard of Eternal Darkness? It`s a relatively new game ( for Gamecube) and it sure did scare me. It has these nice little things called Sanity effects. When your character fights against the hordes of otherwordly monsters, his sanity slowly starts to drop. Eventually, when the sanity is low, you will get to see these nice little effects like blood dripping from ceilings... but I better not reveal too much! :sneaky:

Sounds like it is based on Call of Cthulhu rules... the sanity part sounds familiar :) I like the sound of it so might have to go get it from my local store. Need a good scare.

I've gone ATI now, but I think I was using an Nvidia card at the time. I'm pretty sure it was one of Pete's Plugins, probably the DirectX 6 or 7 one. I think I used Eternal for the sound.

No, I haven't, thanks. This game looks badass. Not only do the screenshots sell themselves, but I like this part under the review negatives:
"Might be too scary for some"

I have, and would like to play it (same goes for the Fatal Frame series), but I don't have a gamecube. That and I'm spoiled by the clarity of a PC monitor. Last I checked emulation for the Gamecube was getting very close, but ran slower than a bug stuck in glue.
