Wings of Fury actually originated way back in 1988, by Broderbund for the 8-bit Apple II series. IMO, the game play was superior to the later ports for the PC (inlcuding the remake) and Amiga.

Love the idea of a remake though. One had been planned for the 16-bit Apple IIGS series (the Amiga's contempory) but it never appeared.

does anybody know if there are cheats for the new version?

This question is for Kosta. If you don`t know, but this game is too short, and if you played the Amiga version, you would know that that there are few misions with japs planes that shoot at you... My question is: Where are those misions? (the game is too short/not enough missions :ranting: )

:ranting: HOW DO I LAND THE GODDAMN THING!

i get the wheels out, i shut the engine off, and my plane drives all over
the runway and straight into the ocean....and I remember playing this for hours as a kid (have I perhaps actually never landed?)

Its, tricky, but described both in the review and the manual that comes with the game. The trick is to get your plane somewhere above the level of the ship, do NOT turn your engine off, approach with a moderate speed and your nose slightly tilted upwards. As soon as you're above the ship press the UP arrow and keep it pressed. This will make your plane descend but with the nose tilted up. If you timed it right, you will clench onto one of the 4 or 5 hooks on the carrier. Oh, and one more thing, you have to approach the ship from the right, otherwise you can't land! Hope that helped :ok:
Took me a while too, but it isn't impossible ;) [/b][/quote]
:help: i've tried to land as suggested... every time my plane go into the sea and never stop on the runway. how can i stop over the carrier

I always fall in the sea. How do iget into the sky? when i turn the up or down arrow on the ship while i have a little speed nothing happens.

Make sure you get you Landing gears inside...otherwise it's too heavy :ok:

It may pay to go into Options > Controls and alter them to suit.

By default to take off first press E untill the engine kicks in then keep pressing left, a couple of metres before the end press left and up.

Default Controls, also stated by Flubber:
e Start/Stop engine
z Machine gun
x Bomb
g Gear Up/Down

To change the type of Plane you have, press X when on the loading zone, press X again to confirm. Also repairs.

Whoever ported this game over is a god. I've been looking for this on and off for years, I can finally relive the good old days!

You're the man/team/woman!!!

Nothing special. Original is better.
