try different client maybe?

bobson 04-10-2008 11:52 PM

nope, I tried different clients, I asked my ISP about quequeing P2P, finally I read about it - it's problem with Vista security. You can have 10 connections opened at once at max. There are patches and cracks to fix it but it does not work in my case - dunno why :/

I think that patch your talking about might still work.
You only need to be sure you have Admin rights to the file(s):

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\TCPIP.SYS
C:\WINDOWS\SERVICEPACKFILES\I386\TCPIP.SYS
(system dependend eventually C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DLLCACHE\TCPIP.SYS too).

(It's best you searched "TCPIP.SYS" on your C: Drive and get Admin rights on all)

That is. If you ARE talking about the Event ID 4226 Patcher. :whistling:

I can patch the system, but after that I nearly can't use it! It stops during boot and says, that there are changes ... OK, I could be manually confirming all that sh*t every time when the computer starts, but sometimes I just want to do something quick, and it takes a while to start-up with this thing.

Do you know any bypass to the start-up checking for changes in Vista?

Sorry no.. Didn't even knew Vista was THIS evil..
(I'm still using XP myself)

The admin part was all the help I could give..

Maybe you could Mail the guy who made the patch.

See if he knows more about how to Patch Vista..

I'll probalby stay with the server solution for now. I got licence for Vista for only a year, so more 9 months and I'll have to look around for another system :)

I know the thread's gone elsewhere, but FYI....

if you want to learn all there is about torrents and other related stuff go here.

[BLEEEP]

It's a torrent search engine, but the real jewel is in the Forum. (under community)

Very active, with a plethora of information.

for what it's worth, I've peered & seeded torrents for awhile now and follow a few common sense rules and have had no problem with viruses, etc.
