Yes, I am running under DosBox. I have increased and decreased everything. What gives this away is that the fireplace in the Lab gets all corrupted right before the game locks up. It goes from looking like it should to having all sorts of strange colors and lines. I've even tried playing it OUTSIDE of DosBox to try and make it work.

I also experienced this, and there is a short thread about it in Troubleshooting forum. I also noticed the fireplace going awry. I tried the game with DosBox and VDMSound, and both worked until the end in which they both froze at the same point.

Has *anyone* completed it? I quess that some have, did they run it without emulator or did it just work for them?

hey,

when I go to the thieves camp in the desert, there's some sort of "spell"/code, I have to enter, which I behind is Sierra's copyright protection. *Sometimes, if I hit randem letters, I can go into the tent, but I'm promptly killed. *Is there anyway to kind this mystical code? *Thanks for your help.

Have you downloaded the codes?
They are on the same site where you downloaded the game. (In the top part where it says extras).

Can't find the codes on the site anywhere. Need them for Crispin's wand when you push the boat. Where can I get a translator?

Hmm... they seem to have been lost. I'll fix it. Just hang on :)

If you find out where to get the codes let me know.

I am also having trouble trying to push the boat out.

I know it has been said but I have to say it again. This site is the greatest! I use to have almost all the old sierra adventure games, but when I moved I sold everything but the QFGs. Stupid! Now that I can finely play them again I have been on a bit of an adventure binge.

Wow I loved this game! Still got it in my room. Was the first game I really actually sat down and played on the PC, I remember first time I got stuck was with the desert then I let my friend borrow it to play some but wanted to play so bad while he had it! Think it was only by random chance and rereading what people said I figured out the desert.

I agree. Kings Quest 5 was great, although Kings Quest 6 had a better plot, I thought. I was able to get through all of the Kings Quests by myself except for III and IV; (and VIII, if you count that as an adventure game). I think 6 is the best one, though.

Is this the version with voice acting on it?

If not, I've got the original CD here, so uploading it wouldn't be a problem LOL
