System Shock definately wins the "best" category even though I love every game listed.

It definately has the best played story from the list. Sure the graphics weren't the best but but everything about it is fantastic.

I'd still have to say that it's by far my favorite FPS series (coupled with the original Deus Ex and I'm one happy puppy). Warren Specter simply put creates the best FPSes.

yeah - how much am i looking forward to the new game (the name of which eludes me)?

Bioshock, not connected to System Shock sadly, we won't see SHODAN.

Rise of the Triad had a personality. Any game which has DogMode and a Steven Hawking-esque boss is just fine by me.

And who's going to vote for Ken's Labyrinth? Okay, it was made by a twelve year old, what an accomplishment, but when you get past that, it's terrible. No gameplay what-so-ever.

Also, TekWar. Um... The only thing worth mentioning about it is that William Shatner is in it, and he didn't even make it worth getting. Or thinking about. If I got the game and used the manual to line my parrot's cage, he'd probably slash my face off with his talons.

And that is exactly why I'm torn between buying it immediately or waiting a little bit. I'll admit that the new story seems pretty groovy, but there has never (and possibly might not ever be) been a better villian than SHODAN so having a game without her just might not be right.

Sure they're calling Bio Shock the "spiritual successor" to the series but keeping the name so close to the other half of the series kind of lets the fans down who're craving the return of our favorite rogue AI. :sneaky:

I half-agree. On one hand, SHODAN is a goddess. :kosta: On the other hand, I'd like to see new territory explored. I mean, Superman has more enemies than Lex Luthor, and Spidey fights more villains than the Green Goblin, right?

The new Deus Ex spin-off looks pretty good too.
Project: SnowBlind it was originally going to be part of the Deus Ex series, but they've droppped it for some reason, and converted it into a seperate game.
Same sort of thing though, biomods, stealth, cybernetics etc... but a bit more action focused than playing as a Denton. :rifle:

:not_ok: My god people :not_ok:
How can you not appreciate all that wolf3d did
It was by far the best dos fps ever
doom was great but wolf3d was five times better considering all it had to work with
Wolf3d was the game that set the stage for doom
Duke Nuken just plain sucked
everything else is just a clone of those three games
I have to say i am dissapointed by some of you(not those that woted for wolf3d)

Oh yeah
PROJECT SNOWBLIND SUCKS A**!!!!!

Dark Forces for me is the best DOS First Person Shooting had to offer. It was as repetative as Doom (and any other FPS from the era) and had a better story. Why is Tek War up there as a choice? it has to be one of the worst FPS in history.
