Downloaded dosbox.74 shortcut on desktop. dragged the shortcut over to the Europe file and now there is a file Dosbox .74 in list of Operation Europe. Dragging main.exe over to dosbox has no effect. What is next?

Use Alt-Enter to go to full screen and back. If we haven't got a manual you might try googling the game and looking on other sites. I don't know if replacementdocs is still a good source.

Thanks man, I am getting there! I have everything figured out except the controls for the individual battles. The manual is the one from SNES, so it wont tell me how to play on my laptop. Anyone know how to control game in a battle?

I am trying to figure out how to play Operation europe on my laptop. Specifically how to give orders to units in battle. Is there anyone alive that actually knows how it works in MS DOS? I have the original manual.
