But I don't know that - maybe David knows about it and he was shocked about it too.
I mean there was at least one such terrible even in every decade of the last century... and I doubt that most people cared much about it... Only as long it was HOT-NEWS.
And only things that are in the political interest of somebody remain HOT-NEWS for a longer period of time.

it did affect me..i was watching "Just for Laughs" when it was interrupted by the news..mostly my mother was freaked out cause my father is in america.

I feel sorry for the innocent people who died and for their family's however this date is not of much importance to me and it didn't (directly)affect my life...
