then your email is in some sort of list.
the thing itself isn't infected.

In other words, some horrific soul got your email adress and entered you in all the "click here for a free PSP" ads...

Is your computer running slow at all? Is your internet laggy?

Long ago I learnt never click on ads on the net and always to not trust anti virus software that much.

AVG sucks, I should know, cause i used that and what crap it turned out to be. Never trust free antivirus progs.

That is why I stopped using AVG years ago, but I still swear by Antivir. IT is a great anti virus program and it is free.

I prefer AVG.

Hasn't anyone tried Avast! ?
It has been keeping my computer and alot of my neighbours and friends computer virus free for a long time and it's free with daily updates.

Wew! That was it. The online scan told me that there are no viruses on my computer.

However, this means that my email (ojala36@hotmail.com) is infested. What should i do?

Get a new hotmail account. It's free. You shouldn't use hotmail for general e-mail. Get something better like GMail. Probably anyone here would be glad to invite you. But get a new hotmail account for the sake of Messenger. You won't get that annoying "You have 87 new messages" at least. Is hotmail still free?

you don't need a hotmail account to have messanger...
you can get a ms passport on any email addres.

Bobbin Threadbare 29-11-2005 02:56 PM

Meh, I prefer to have an @hotmail.com address.

Maybe they're using your pc for sending spam as a zombie, maybe you've got a trojan or something that your AV can't find...
And send me a PM if you want gmail...
