If you look deeper into it, it actually makes sense.

1) The universe this plays in is humongous, so lag wouldn't surprise me.

2) If a carnivorous Carebear is possible, Garfield should be possible, too ;)

3) I think he is referring to the whole "Planet go boom" thing at the end of the video

Well, since nearly everything is created procedual during gameplay, I don't think all the content will be that big.

So, instead of a big HD you'd rather need a lot of RAM and a good CPU.

But if you're going to be downloading stuff everytime you play, from everyone else who plays, that is really going to add up.
