I forgot this name. I saw them, and it is beautiful. I would add Vogel (if that's correct name) as from there you can have great view on rest of the Alps. :D

I love your ideas. I'll be coming in August, by plane (intend to rent a car on place). And I will be coming with my husband and daughter, so we probably will stay in a hotel, but thanks for your hospitality Sebastianos! I really appreciate it.

@Playbahnosh, I have visited Hungary maaany times. It is a very beautiful country indeed. That is my second option. I usually stay in Siofok (or something like that).

And going to Australia would probably ruin my budget.

I whish I have that great expirance from Hungary...

My expirance was: 14 days, 2 hours 45 minutes of horror. We were carantined and closed in old Hungarian army camp. Russian army camp was better, so Hungarian army moved out. (so you can imagine what kind of room we had)

Well, I was one of those who jumped from the second floor and got away for a day or two just not to be closed again. :D

There are a lot of fun paces in Croatia, try some of the islands or bigger cities on the coast, I recommend Rab, Rijeka, Zadar, Pula, or Pag. I dont know about Slovenija

Istra, has a lot of nice places, pitoresque towns, they compare it to Toscany, also there's a good film festival in August in one of the towns there - Motovun, and Istra is close to Slovenia if you plan on visiting both countries...
I don't much about Dalmatia's beatuies because I haven't been there...

When is 'Sinjska Alka'?

Tulac 20-03-2006 05:38 PM

Also in August, yeah that's a tradition worth seeing too I guess...

Well, if you're landing in Slovenia this may be a slight problem, but seeing as both Rainwife and I are free in August we should deffinetly work something out. I never knew you had a child (how old is she?). Depending on her age the itinerary should probably change a bit (it should be less full and at somewhat different location) - you should probably leave out the Dolenjska castles then (the monasteries and castles really wouldn't be too suited for a little child. If she's over the age of 4/5 then there's no problem!

With a child you should deffinetly go to Celje and visit Herman's brlog (it's a children museum - very popular) and probably have a stay at Aqualand (it used to be a thermal spa, but is now a water-fun park). It would be one of the locations on the way from Brežice (Čatež) towards Slovenska Bistrica.

There's lots of other things I could recomend, if you tell me what interests you (and I've been showing Slovenia around to many people already and they've all been very impressed with the country, so I know what's worth seeing).

If you wan't I can PM you my phone number just in case anything goes wrong (after all the furthest location in Slovenia is only a five hour drive away from where I am), so if you run into any trouble...
