The three main quests are, Find the prince, the princess and to get rid of Baba Yaga. I can't say for certain if you need the mandrake, but it is part of the Baba Yaga quest line, she wants you to get it for her. You might be able to remove her without doing it, but I have never tried.

Afaik the dispel potion is only used at the brigand leader. I think you mean the 2nd one is for the bear, but isn't he transformed back into human when you release his magical manacles?
And yep with 2 main quests I meant the undead unguent and the dispel potion.

Yes the prince is released if you unlock is manacles.

Yes, that's true, I have my memories messed up. But you don't need to take baba yaga away to win the game. I think that it is possible to win without making baba yaga go away. Just rescuing the princess is enough, as far as I remember

You don't need to get rid of Baba or rescue the prince, but to get the most amount of points, and the cannon ending you do. Not being able to get the dispel potion though will stop you from being able to finish the quest that ends the game. So herb lady is required.

So, no stealing potions from her until having the dispel potion! :p

Man this game is so great, I wished it was bigger!

Yes, it is one of the best of the series (although I am a grumpy old man and prefer the EGA version :p). The 4th in the series returns to this roots in a sense, so you will surely enjoy it a lot. Sure, everything is more on the spooky gothic side, with a little dash of lovecraftian, but it is still being in a little fief, in the middle of a dangerous forest, with mythical creatures going around.

I've probably said it elsewhere on here, but the first game is the best all around game. Fourth game has the best story. The VGA version is about the only VGA remake from Sierra that I like better than the original, maybe because fighting and using spells and stuff works better with the icon interface, although it sucks that it dumbs dialog down. So I'm not against playing both.

I'd still like to find a fix for the palette issues during the night in the VGA version. I grew up with the Mac version and still haven't gotten that to work in order to compare the two since I don't remember it having that problem. I have a freeze bug (also VGA version) when giving the thieves guild password to the goon guy that I haven't been able to fix as well.

I've read many walktrough but I still cant get past his maze, all the walktrough said to talk to him untill he said he'll wait inside, but talk about what how many times, anyone please give me a detailed info :(
