Civ3 is out on budget now and there is no problem getting the conquerers expansion now. No need to use illegal copies.

Tried Civ 3 multiplayer once, it is horribly slow, even early on, as the Picard said. Although AC runs better online IMO.

As for the University, granted, you can go a long way with a tech advantage, but thats not the only aspect to the game. Come war and the Hive will beat them through numbers, the Spartans through higher morale and the Belivers could simple steal any University base they come across.

i always find the Believers get killed right at the start, and the Gaians are easy to kill but really hard to wipe out completely, they always have one city in some hard to reach place or hidden away somwhere.

I'd be up for some Civ3: Conquests MP, but I reckon it'd have to be on PBM since i rarely have a big enough block of free time for a game in one sitting (PBM also eliminates the time-delay annoyance). If anyone wants to do that, I'd be interested.

Realy gives the units a good balance, and better wonder-setup IMHO.
+ Plauge gives it more of a twist :)

Some units are slightly overpowerd, but hey, everyone got em, so it balance things out.

Realy like locked-ally vs Comp :) Sorry to say, but strategy is more fun in Co-op then vs.

Well, me and UH just started off a game on PBM but after 1 turn i reckon we could start over to accomodate a Titan if we wanted.
