Only adventures I played were funny ones(Discworld,Monkey Islands,Sam and Max....etc...) or creepy ones(Sanatorium,Blackstone chronicles,Darkseed,5 and 7 days a stranger/sceptic...) and Legends of Kyrandia(just becouse there was Slovak translation....)
I like adventures, but I really dont see a reason why they should be superme to RPG or strategy....
But well, that is just me :tomato:

Alright alright. Does anyone know of any extremely gory adventure games? I mean 5days and 7days weren't THAT gory.

Phantasmagoria - gory and scary at the same time.

BTW Harvester is also good! :ok:

Strategy altough the C&C serie are not strategy games per se. Only the first C&C can be considered strategic IMHO.

Adventure without a doubt.

Almost all of the most memorable characters, stories and humour, come from adventure games.

Aah - to only feel again what I felt after completing the likes of Broken Sword, Grim Fandango, Zork Grand Inquisitor, The Longest Journey and Gabriel Knight. When I completed these games, it felt like someone had just died for me - I was empty inside.

No other games touch me like adventures.

I wanted to cry after completing The Longest Journey - I couldn't believe it was the end.

Adventures are my escape from life's misery.

Oh where are the adventures now ....

Thought I was the only one *sigh*

I'm both surprised and pleased to see how the majority of the votes are for adventure. Makes me depressed when I read or hear about adventure being a "dying genre" . I like to think it's a phase and one day ppl will realise how amazing it is to really use your little grey cells to explore fantastic stories

It is indeed sad to see that many developers and publishers are saying that the adventure genre is dying, and that if they were to put out an adventure game, they worry they wont' be able to make a profit, with the rising costs of making games now a days, it's understandable, one game could essentially make or break your company, but still it would be nice to see some publishers and developers take a chance and put something out.

I think that Adventure gaming has passed it's crisis, it's reviving now...

And in what genre would you sort other parts of C&C serial?

Yeah I believe so too. I just hope for more point and click adventures like Myst, Gabriel Knight, Longest Journey etc. Even though Grim Fandango was brilliant I never cared much for the controls.
