When you move the mouse towards the four edges of the screen, there will be direction arrows pointing at that direction. When you click right mouse button while it's in the position of these direction arrows, and hold it, you begin to walk, or run there as long as the mouse button is held. The further your mouse is to the edge of the screen, the faster you move.
Also the fire will burn you. Not much damage, but it adds up. You don't need to walk into fire to get something out of there (things won't burn in fire, btw.), just walk slowly a bit closer to it. Then you can left-click on things on fire, hold the mouse button and drag the thing to a different position. If you drag it too far away from your figure, it will be thrown there.

To get access to your inventory, either double-click with left mouse button on your figure, then on the backpack on your figure in the stats window that opens, or just press the I button (or was it B?).
One thing to add about the backpack - learn to micromanage it. It is very small and you'll find many things, and all won't fit into the backpack in such manner that you could see them all separately there. So you'll discover that you'll need most of the time to place things in backpack in such a way that you can see the edges, or corners of these things under another things. All you need is just to click on the edge or corner of a thing under another thing, click and drag it to another spot (in or out of backpack), or simply double-click on it to use it (if usable, but most things in Ultima VIII are).

Master, I think dear twillight problem is that he, after taking the sleep bag failed to move left but goes to fire instead.
Dear twillight, do not afraid carefully to move closer to sea, avoiding this way fire. You may, you very good gamer. Then hit west and voilaaa.
Nice game but stupid yoga can not pass The Pit of Dead.

Nobody help me , nobody like me.
Tears in my heart.

That one is a very large, complex area. No possible way to simply guide you through it to the point.
Basically you have to move and move, going and jumping past an area with columns and grid gates on tiny islands between sea of lava, all the time orienting yourself on the south-west direction I think. When you arrive at big ruins with large closed gates at either side, with few skeletons waiting to chop you in pieces, and kind of a hall behind those gates with wooden benches inside, that's where Lithos's heart is located.

Dear Master, I did not enter The Pit even.
Before The Pit I realized terrible fact that the magician who play very important role in gaming no more responding, making this way any progress unnecessary.
Something in all my 6 attempts was totally wrong. ?????
Hope you understand my dilemma?
This is the reason to beg for help (let say some save file of this point).
I never forget the help and dully pay for such act.:smile2:

Really I will never forget the moment when poor yoga is rolled within sphere on the lava field. Nice moment i did many times. ha ha ha

Someone know the difference between the basic edition and the gold version of the game ?

Scatty 19-04-2012 09:24 PM

There's a gold version of the game? Maybe it contains the mystical Lost Vale in it :p
