BTW, if you got it all working swell, now it's time to backup the virtual C where you installed W3, so if you completely screwup something it's simply a matter of copying the backup to get a working W3 again.

yeah you're right... i got the right drivers now and its working....currently tried 640x480 with 64k large fonts and 800x600 with 64k colors large and small fonts..all modes working....but 1 thing is holiday island is lagging...not that much that u cant play it evenly....but sometimes when you;re loading a saved game or starting a new map, the time between generating the map or loading it, the music lags for a microsecond, and also mapping around in the game is not that much smooth than what i am having in XP MODE through windows 7.....any ideas???

You're still on dosbox 0.73 I believe?
Update to 0.74
Kill everything that's running on the background and isn't really needed (I mean EVERYTHING)
If it still lags, you're on a crappy PC or your Windows is lame. XD

As last ressort:
-> kill the music ingame, can help sometimes.
-> change output= .... in dosbox conf file
-> read the dosbox tutos.

The fuc* .... ?
Copy the whole virtual C on a USB key? Burn the stuff on a CD? Copy to a 'backup' folder? And eat some vegies, that is always helpful.

system is core 2 quad q6600 @ 2.4GHz, 3GB DDR2 RAM, 512MB VGA...windows 7 ultimate....ok i'll try....downloading dosbox v0.74...

Your system should be sufficient to run it nicely.
Do you mount the CD image with imgmount directly in dosbox?
(look at the pics I posted earlier, I'm kinda tired of repeating the same over and over again here....)

If it still lags your Win7 is probably completely lame/overloaded with crap.
BTW, you may have as many 'cores' as you want, dosbox will only use a single one. So keep your system clean and again: kill EVERYTHING that isn't needed and runs on the background.

its "imgmount f c:\holida~1.cue -t iso" and then it says MSCDEX installed.
Drive F is mounted as c:\doswin\games\holida~1.cue

What say you? and then in windows 3.11 drive F is loaded with this English Version of Holiday Island. And i can run it...but game sometimes lag....dont know why.....
