I always like to make some exercise of logic.

excuse me, this word was really inappropriate

Wasn't that the point? You only need a small one. A small one grows eating everything around it ....

REPENT! TeH end is near !

No, one as small as the LHC would be able to create would collapse very soon after it was created. Such a small hole does not have enough force to pull in matter from around it before it collapses.

Anything is dangerous if you don't use it right.

Oh, so they already know that fact for sure? Or it is just some guessing?
Once they were sure the Earth was flat ........ they even could prove that fact.
Once they were sure something heavier then air couldn't fly .... they even could prove that fact.

Etcetera etcetera etcetera .......

REPENT I SAY!!! TeH EnD iS NeAr.

You do realize that even micro black holes usually have a diameter of 24 KM or larger?

Bobbin Threadbare 26-09-2008 08:51 AM

I don't think CERN would have made the LHC if they knew the risk of a destructive black hole being created was high. Stop worrying, guys.

AlumiuN 26-09-2008 08:57 AM

Thank you! I'm glad someone isn't spelling the end 'TeH End'. :D Oh, I'm also glad someone is agreeing with me.

Shhuuuuuusssss you, let me have my laughter at their expense.
:bleh:
They seem to take themselves extremely seriously, and of course they know all about CERN, must be that they all are high-qualified-specialised engineers.
Or at least quantum physics specialists.

:hysterical:
