It's getting close now...

ReamusLQ: 3
omg: 3
a1s: 4.33333334
Sebatianos: 3
Fruit Pie Jones: 1
Bobbin: 0.666666667

Name the Greek alphabet, and, if possible, the units which correspond with them in modern science.

ReamusLQ 30-01-2006 02:50 PM

Α α Alpha Β β Beta
Γ γ Gamma Δ δ Delta
Ε ε Epsilon Ζ ζ Zeta
Η η Eta Θ θ Theta
Ι ι Iota Κ κ Kappa
Λ λ Lambda Μ μ Mu
Ν ν Nu Ξ ξ Xi
Ο ο Omicron Π π Pi
Ρ ρ Rho Σ σ ς Sigma
Τ τ Tau Υ υ Upsilon
Φ φ Phi Χ χ Chi
Ψ ψ Psi Ω ω Omega

No longer used: Digamma San Qoppa Sampi (no character, they are no longer used)

Master MC 30-01-2006 07:35 PM

Okay, and how are they used in physics, mathematics etcetera? LOL

ReamusLQ 31-01-2006 12:57 AM

Hey, you only said if possible, and I gave a pretty freaking thorough answer.

And most of those have multiple meanings, even w/ science (ex. alpha and beta are used to describe the different photosystems in a chloroplasts, while it can also refer to the alpha particles in physics) There are too many variations. Sigma for mathematic notation, Pi for 3.14, etc.
