He spots another one in the middle of the debris of the engine room, and takes it out as well.

I know, it's quite annoying that an explosion with a radius of 10 meters only reached about 1.5 meters up, but you can also use this to your advantage when you get flying suits, as long as you are one square in the air, you're invulnerable to all kinds of explosive (unless it's a direct hit with something explosive, live a rocket launcher or something).
