I'm running this game on an old 386DX/40 (with 32 mb ram) and I still don't have enough EMS for sound?!?

Try running 'mem' or 'memmaker' or maybe 'memmkr' I don't remember the exact command, but whatever it was allowed me to change the memory allocation between EMS and XMS. Different programs liked different kinds of memory. If those don't help, try this site: http://www.computerhope.com/msdos.htm#02

I'd use my mom's old comp if it didn't irritate me all to hell. I can't handle the 5 minute reboots. Also, if you're running it from windows, try running it from dos (saves memory).

Hope this's still of use.

Disable the unneeded drivers or use LH to load them into higher areas of RAM.

I still play the game I love it all the different species like the musin and the Ursor, and those musin are so funny LOL, at the end you have to fly through a tunnel of circles while you being attacked, you need a very good repair tool (Jiff'ntheboxbotbooster or something like that) and Velo, deathstrike or quiridus missiles

hey i wanted to know if there was anyway i could find out specs for the items and stuff in the game or a description of them.

Here's a zip file containing nicely formatted screenshots of most of the items in the game:

http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/28235/nomad.zip.html

If you use a hex editor to look in the INVENT.DAT file that comes with the game, it seems to contain embedded files 'inv0001.stp' through 'inv0254.stp'. I'm not familiar with any STP file format, so it's likely a proprietary format created by the game developer.

The package of screen shots linked to above contains 235 items, so I suppose it's possible that there are up to 19 more that I haven't discovered. Most of the really weird ones (Ancient Rocketskate, Brass Glass) were brought up from previously-inhabited worlds by Arch-Bots.

Could you re-upload your screenshots? They seem to have expired

Also I have heard that the UK intro is a lot different to the US Intro.
You should be able to see your ship stranding at Space Station Hawking in the UK version. Does anyone have info (or files) on that?
