I assume you have already mounted your D:\Dosgames directory as the C drive in DosBox. If not:
mount C D:\Dosgames Put stuff from all floppies into a single directory. Then mount that directory in DosBox as the A drive using MOUNT command: mount a (insert the path to that directory here) Enter A: to change to that directory and install the game to the virtual "C drive" (which in reality is your D:\Dosgames directory) |

Does anyone here know how with this file to get Sound Blaster sound?
I feel dumb but i just realised all the sound was coming out of the pc, i just figured it was old and not as good. I looked at the install file after the zip file unpacked itself of DQK and its defaulted to PC sound. Can I reinstall? Maybe i could try that |

what I did was mount c d:/oldgames followed by mount a d:/oldgames/dqok with soundblaster sound, install in C drive, read source from A:\ floppies. Anything I did wrong? |

Then do this in dosbox: mount c d:\oldgames (enter) mount a d:\oldgames\dqk (enter) then go to station A aka a: (enter) and write install. I hope i gave you right instructions  |

Where's your Soundblaster? It's usually at 220h or 388h. Are you using Dosbox? If not, it's just a matter of configuring your autoexec.bat to include a SET BLASTER line and also a SET SOUND if you're using a card that needs special drivers. |
Oh I figured it out. I went to the dqk install file and it was defaulted to PC sound, miracously it let me do a reinstall even though it wanted to look for the install files on a floppy drive. I reselected Sb sound for music and effects and saved it and reinstalled. Now its a lot better.
Only problem is my friend used to go on about how good the fishes sounded in SB in the underwater level with the bubbles and stuff. I dunno if I want to go back, just for that :) |
Yeah, sounds are fun in this game. When creature dies it sounds like dude who is drunk and is vomiting ^_^ Now in Death Knights they have that manly AAARRGGGHHH!!! :w00t:
