 I have the original CD, trying to install and get the reply "Not enough EMS memory"
Help anyone? |
Are you using DosBox? I'd risk a guess you don't.

Hey guys I need some help
I'm trying to install Ultimate Domain from a CD, and I get the 'not a valid hard disk drive' message. Can anyone help me? |
What OS are you using? Did you think of using DosBox?

Hey everyone,
I recently found my old Ultimate Domain cd and wanted to play because the game is awesome and I have many old memories of it. I couldn't install it in Windows, DOSBox, or DOSBox using D-Fend, and was wondering if any of you could help me out at all? DOSBox keeps saying that the cd isn't found (even though it's in the computer and mounted). It's kind of frustrating, as I have the real game and yet still can't play it. Thanks for your help! |
If it doesn't recognize the CD in DosBox, try using low-level support. Explained here.
An alternative method of getting around the problem is creatin an ISO (or BIN/CUE) image to mount in DosBox using IMGMOUNT command. This tends to alleviate any and all CD recognition issues. |
What exactly are the differences between the various Genesia/Ultimate Domain versions? I have two, the one from the screenshots in the game page, and a hi-res (640x480?) version which is exactly the same apart from the better graphics. Both are named Genesia and are (AFAIK) floppy versions.

Hey, so I am using Dosbox and I am trying to play this game. I am running xp. I have tried the following
mount d d:\ -t cdrom -label DOMAIN -usecd 0 -ioctl mount c c:\domain I then try to play the game with the cd it says there isnt a cd I tried creating an iso of the cd and mounted it it still said it could not find the cd :-( any advice? |
Mount the CD and mount an empty directory as the C drive. Then run the game's installer from the CD (typical names are INSTALL and SETUP).

Ok so I went through the whole routine and installed DOSbox and all that. I got my CD mounted and installed Ultimate Domain from the original disks. It recognized it fine then. Well when I go to type in genesia.bat it comes up with an error that says "CD-ROM disk missing or CD-ROM drive not ready" Does anyone have any ideas about this error. Any help would be much appreciated.
