Are there any rules about artistic nudity here btw ? Thought I should ask first before posting anything of that sort...

TheGiantMidgit 24-05-2006 01:59 AM

I pass on the pixel art torch to you. You are more than worthy.

Modeus 24-05-2006 02:18 AM

Wooh ! Great stuff :D Especially like your first and last portret ;)
Havent been here for a while since my schedule became much busier near the end of the schoolyear.

And I'm sure you'll find a programmer here who will be happy to work with you! I suggest you to check the "Programming" section of the forum!

Icewolf 24-05-2006 07:38 AM

Amazing art.

guesst 27-05-2006 02:27 AM

So, eh, what is the board policy on nudity?

Some of our members are mature enough at least not to "hubba hubba" to loudy, but there are other members that would be all Bevis and Bottomhead about it, so maybe it's better that we not.

Shame tho.

There was this one time when I was in art class, the first time we were going to get a nude model. This is college, and there were more than a few fresh out of high school boys (myself, I was several years and millions of miles out of High School) who were getting ready to let the dogs out until he showed up. Man, to hear them gripe.

Just to be clear, I'm a straight guy, bordering on homophobe. But this was class, education. Study of the nude male is as valuable, if not more so, than the nude female. Don't get me wrong, on any other day if I had to choose between staring at a nude for 2 hours, I'd choose a female. But for the purposes of study you've got to tuck your labido and look at in a more intelectual way, IMHO.

moogle 27-05-2006 05:18 AM

Heh.
To be honest I think it should be allowed...I mean, at leat give it a chance, we've tried, religion, politics and all that which can and sometimes has developed into an inmmature agrmument.
And to help deal with te yougnings, we could have like a 18+ label or whatever? Although I personally don't consider it that bad, art is art.

Grinder 27-05-2006 09:27 PM

Well if there's a warning some posts ahead, it should be fine. I'm with moogle on this one. He's right about the religion, politics, etc. thing. Nudity is a form of art, well, some arts, and for those who can deal with it....why not? Of course, we would have a parent speak up without being asked every now and then, but well, you have to live with it.
My bottom line: Put a warning up, and it's just fine. BUT we should strictly limit it to the Art section. Nudity's got nothing to do with Blah Blah Blah for example.

Wow, that's one educated, intellectual opinion.
I second that! :ok:
Espeacially when we have such great images as our friend Moonstrider created! :kosta: :kosta:

Quintopotere 30-05-2006 04:01 PM

Erm... I just wonder why are you all talking about nudity...

Looking at Moonstrider pics, I can't find nudity... or I'm so dumb...

Moonstrider 30-05-2006 05:14 PM

I thought I should ask before posting anything... but I guess I could just put up a link to the pic with a warning...

Here's the ones I didn't post: (And yes... nudity warning! heheh)

Himmler 31-05-2006 12:44 PM

Tom Henrik 31-05-2006 02:57 PM

That is simply amazing! That pixel girl in the red dress is some of the best pixelart I have ever seen.

Marvellous!!

And it's about time we got more Norwegians on the site :bleh:

Anyways. You say that you are looking for work in game-projects. I would advice you to check out the sister site of Abandonia - Abandonia Reloaded, as we have some independent game makers running around that place. :ok:

:kosta:

Too bad I had already handed the pixel torch over to GiantMidget, but I saw he handed it over to you. But... uhm... here's a medal that I made a loooooooooong time ago. It's yours :P

marko river 02-06-2006 09:27 AM

by the way, is that Air Man of yours the same Air Man from Mega Man 2 or completely different one?

Dino 02-06-2006 06:06 PM

I know people said it before, but I must express my amazement... This artwork is astonishing, mate! I especially like your pixel art, it's just fascinating! :ok:

:kosta:

TaloN 03-06-2006 06:16 PM

pixel work is nice
but holy crap at the brush work made on....mmm what program is that?

stunnign mate.

Moonstrider 03-06-2006 09:01 PM

TaloN: Dunno witch of the drawings you mean but the first two girls (with the red "wings") is made in a paintchat-ish program called sketcher @ www.artgrounds.com. The other one is made in photoshop, i think, or maybe opencanvas, I use that a lot too.

marko_river: It's sort of a redesign of the Airman from Megaman 2, made in a more SNES-ish style.

Tom Henrik: Thanks for the tip about AR, registered at the forums there not long ago. :)
And hey, You're from Trondheim... Too bad I moved from there not long ago (or more specificly Melhus). I went to Tr?ndertun until may this year. We had quite a little old games cult there, hehe.

And to you other guys: Thanks for the comments and kind words. :)

TheVoid 06-06-2006 09:56 PM

Hat's off to all the stuff you've posted, sir. :kosta:

Mighty sweet portraits, and the colouring in Gymnophobia is wonderful.

Cifra 07-06-2006 06:00 AM

You are pretty good, congratulations!

Mighty Midget 09-06-2006 03:38 PM

Stunning! You, my good man, are one pixel demon  :kosta: BTW: Those SW guys were just great! The drawings were incredible as well. I hope your work will get you far.
