heLL0 24-05-2006 08:21 PM

Not for me. Quake 4 will do it :sneaky:

TheGiantMidgit 24-05-2006 08:32 PM

It's decent... not my favourite. Went through it a few times, did alot of online matches, but, meh. To me, it just screams "13 year old boy BLOW STUFF UP!"

Meh, FPS lack innovation. I don't have the time to play everything so I have to be picky. If it doesn't do somehitng that's never been done before, meh. And halo, sorry, it may be the best console FPS out there, but to us PC gamers it's got nothing.

TheGiantMidgit 24-05-2006 08:59 PM

Best console FPS? Naw man... Metroid. Definetly. Hunters on a handheld even stacks up to Quake and the rest. And if Prime wasn't an innovation in FPS gaming, I don't know what is.

Blood-Pigggy 24-05-2006 10:33 PM

Metroid isn't an FPS :P
It's an FPA.

TheGiantMidgit 25-05-2006 12:10 AM

Pft, Hunters isn't.

Blood-Pigggy 25-05-2006 12:33 AM

No, Hunters is stinky cheese simulation.
Or SCS.

Wait, I'm just bitter cause I can't play my copy right now.

TheGiantMidgit 25-05-2006 12:42 AM

I'd gather, or I'd put your taste in gaming to question.

Kearnsy 25-05-2006 08:01 AM

Halo isnt that great. :tomato:
The whole sheild system is annoying and the weapons are really dull.
BF2 is a heap of fun, challenging and rewarding. There is always a way to counter your opponents and like all great games team work wins.
Console FPS are just clumbersome. Computer shooters are far superior. IHMO

Blood-Pigggy 25-05-2006 09:06 PM

BF2 is incredible with Surround Sound.
But I think Goldeneye is better than all PC FPS games, except for Half-life, just too many good times with Goldeneye :D

I bought Metroid Prime two days ago. I was confused at first as it didn't seem like much of an FPS but as you said it isn't an FPS. I'm loving it so far. I'll probably go back and get Metroid Fusion when I get a DS.

But seriously Unreal Tournament is the best FPS... ever.

TheGiantMidgit 26-05-2006 05:44 AM

Metroid Fusion is absolutely incredible, as I've said previously. I give it my highest recomendation. One of the few GBA games that delivered for me, and then some. Metroid Prime isn't an FPS, as you've noted, but an evolution of the genre into a First Person Adventure. Exploration and Puzzles take stage light, with some heated gunfighting in between.

Iron_Scarecrow 26-05-2006 09:11 AM

Yes, I was also dissapointed when there were no lengthy story bits, although reading the Pirates and Chozo's journals make up for it a bit, but it just drags you in with atmosphere, beautiful settings and the exploration.

TheGiantMidgit 26-05-2006 03:15 PM

Echoes has some very nice and compelling storyline pieces, and incredible atmosphere. The wreckages at the beginning are incredible, letting you read the logs of all the dead troopers you encounter as you slowly learn what occured.

The Fifth Horseman 26-05-2006 03:21 PM

Actually, Metroid Fusion was the first Metroid title I ever came into contact with...

Suffice to say, Metroid fever has proven highly contagious once again. :D
